Increased spread times?

This is a question regarding forex trading.

I am looking to better understand the time-frames when the spreads increase and when they do, approximately by how much, 10 pips, 20 pips, 40 pips or more...?

From what I have experienced and understood so far these are the periods that make the pips spread increase and up to how much (only talking of NZD/USD pair).

For NZD/USD it appears as if an hour before it closes (between open and close of the daily markets) the spread begins to increase...

My understanding is because of the trading brokerages tend to close and reopen(?) which causes the variation of spread value.

But I am uncertain if this is affected by futures and options.

I know that when news announcements are expected the markets tend to be either very volatile with spread differences and movements sometimes both at the same time, sometimes just random.

But one thing I am trying to figure out... do the options, Binaries, or Futures (anything else?) affect the overall movement of the market if not long-term then just short-term?
